About Public Procurement Regulatory Authority

The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) is a regulatory body in Pakistan responsible for regulating public procurement processes to ensure transparency, fairness, and efficiency in government procurement. It was established under the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Ordinance, 2002. The PPRA oversees the implementation of public procurement laws, rules, and regulations, as well as provides guidance, training, and support to procuring agencies. Its main objectives include promoting competition, preventing corruption and mismanagement, and achieving value for money in public procurement. The authority maintains a comprehensive framework for public procurement, including the development of standard bidding documents, procurement guidelines, and procedures. It also adjudicates complaints related to procurement processes and monitors procurement activities across various government entities.


The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) in Gilgit-Baltistan operates under the purview of the Finance Department of the Gilgit-Baltistan government. Similar to the national-level PPRA, the Gilgit-Baltistan PPRA is tasked with regulating public procurement activities within the region.
